I'm glad to read this- a measured and sensible attitude to that question.

Being mildly autistic I've had to learn the hard way that flatly pointing out bigoted or ignorant attitudes may be the right and decent thing to do, but it's often not a very useful thing to do. Even an attempt on an IT group to try and get people to see attitudes to technology from each others perspectives backfired spectacularly.

I feel sorry for Gordon sometimes, it was certainly one of those "Oh **** was that microphone on" moments.
